Lehigh Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, is pleased to announce its plans to open a 27-bed, 55 and older behavioral health unit.

Gary Bell, Chief Executive Officer at Lehigh Regional Medical Center stated, “We will begin with offering electroconvulsive therapy this spring, and then when the unit is ready to open, most likely in June of 2018, the hospital will provide both. We are looking forward to fulfilling this need in southwest Florida.”

Dr. Mazzorana, the unit’s Medical Director, commented, “Our goal is to have a place of healing that will provide all of the necessary conditions and expertise to help those in need be successful. I strongly believe our unit will be just that.”

Lehigh Regional Medical Center selected the law firm, Smith & Associates, to assist them with adding the 27-bed unit as well as hired Burt Hill/Pollock Krieg Architects to design the hospital’s new unit. Current projections have the new unit opening in June of 2018.
