LRMC places high priority on patient safety and has a comprehensive patient safety program with the goal of preventing healthcare errors. The Patient Safety Council oversees the program and reviews patient care processes and systems, patient care staffing, equipment and the environment of care. The emphasis of the patient safety program is that of creating a culture of safety and open communication in a combined effort to prevent healthcare errors. The Patient Safety Council also coordinates the education of the staff, patients, and the community on topics related to the prevention of heatlhcare errors.
