The Wound Care Institute provides specialized wound care treatment to both inpatients and outpatients as well as IV Therapy. As of January 2010, we are also offering Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments to assist in the healing of problem wounds. The following are some of the wounds we are currently treating with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (please call the Wound Care Institute for more information):
- Necrotizing soft tissue infections (some spider bites, including Brown Recluse)
- Osteomyelitis (refractory)
- Delayed radiation injury (soft tissue and bone necrosis)
- Grafts and skin flaps
- Thermal burns
- Crush injury, compartment syndrome and other acute ischemia
- Exceptional anemiaIntracranial abscess
- Clostridial myositis and myonecrosis (gas gangrene)
- Enhancement of healing in selected problem wounds
Hours of operation are as follows:
Wound Care - 7 days a week
Physician Clinic - Monday through Friday
IV Therapy - Monday through Friday (with weekend coverage done by the Emergency Department)
