Chief Executive Officer

José F. Morillo, the Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Regional Center, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico but was raised throughout the world, as his Father was a soldier for the U.S. Army.  Being an “army brat”, he enjoyed visiting many places such as Panama and Germany, as well as many states throughout the nation.

He is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and subsequently returned for another Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.  He entered the healthcare arena in 1987 as a Physical Therapist in a small community hospital in Yoakum, Texas.  Throughout his service with a few healthcare organizations, he gained an affinity for leadership roles and worked his way through various positions, eventually becoming the Director of Rehab and Wellness at Charlotte Regional Medical Center, a sister Health Management Associates hospital.

During his service at Charlotte Regional Medical Center and with the support of many of his superiors, he went back to school to finish a Master’s degree in Business Administration with Kennedy-Western University, after which he was quickly promoted into an Administration career path.

Mr. Morillo has been the Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Regional Medical Center since October of 2007.  The clinical skills he gained early in his career have served him well in gaining a patient-centered approach to hospital leadership.  He believes that the values of SERVICE, COMPASSION and COMMITMENT Lehigh Regional holds dear are noble ideals to strive for each and every day.
